“Fresco for soprano saxophone and chamber orchestra”
A key jazzman on the Belgian and international scene, a saxophone virtuoso, best jazz album in 1998, Sabam Jazz awards 2011, he has been touring the world (Canada, Nicaragua, Sweden, Senegal, France, Germany, Vietnam, Poland, Italy etc) and has recorded 7 albums as a leader and about fifty as a sideman. Fabrice Alleman is carrying out one of his most beautiful and ambitious projects here: bringing together his main musical sources: jazz, classical music, and world music.
“Unity in Diversity” brings together, for this extraordinary adventure, the unique voice of the soprano saxophone, the Liège Chamber Orchestra, as well as the “Quartz” ensemble and a highly musical rhythm section.
This new combination gives Fabrice Alleman’s compositions, masterfully arranged and orchestrated by Michel Herr, their flight. Nourished by luminous improvisations and melodic lines, the ensemble produces a sound universe of rare subtlety.
The CD was released by “Cyprès records” in September 2017 and distributed in over 20 countries including France, Germany, Japan etc.
